Ariane van Buren

Ariane van Buren works with large pension funds, foundations and endowments on energy, climate, and water risk.  She recently advised the UN’s Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI), and also served as director of investor engagement for Ceres and the Investor Network on Climate Risk (INCR), where she led trustee training and action by institutional investors on investment risks and opportunities.  She created a comprehensive shareholder engagement program on energy and environment at the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility (ICCR).  As director of the Transnational Institute in the Netherlands, and earlier at the International Institute for Environment and Development in London, she served intergovernmental and government agencies, analyzing transportation, industry, and building sectors for national energy planning in the United Kingdom, Europe, China, Tanzania, Senegal, Nicaragua, and Mexico.
